Why work at home?

Whatever your reason for wanting to work at home, be it that you want to:

• stay at home with the kids and earn some extra money on the side
• fulfill a dream

• be available for the kids at school events
• be your own boss
• be creative and inventive
• to be free to do as you like
• stop spending your time traveling to and from work…

here is a list of tips to help you determine if it is the best decision for you  to work at home:

1. You are organised
2. You have the discipline to focus on the tasks you need to do to get your work done on-time and to the standard you expect from yourself (get organised)
3. You can set a work area aside for yourself that is off limits to the kids or at least they know it is important and not to write all over your work (keep things tidy)
4. You have done your research on your business idea and there is a need in the market place (check trademarks and search the internet)
5. You have the necessary skills required to start and run a business, or have the means to employ someone who can do things you don’t like or understand
6. You are driven to succeed (otherwise it is a waste of time)
7. You are passionate about your product / service and it shows
8. You are ready for a change and want to move forward
9. You have a business owner mindset and want to see what it is like
10. You like working alone or in a small team (if that is required with your business)
11. You are prepared to market your business (networking, social media, internet advertising, public relations)

that is just a taste!

So if you are keen, what are you waiting for, start your business now and see where it takes you. The sky is not always the limit. Remove your limitations, move through your fears (yes I have done it, and I am still doing it) and in time your business could be the best thing you ever did for yourself (and your family).
